Beggars

Hi readers!
Hopefully, all of you have a pleasant day. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep reading you all :)

Ad populum appeal to pity evokes sympathy or pity in the other person in an attempt to make the person to accept a conclusion as correct.

Last Friday I went to night market at Sentul area. Suddenly, one woman touched me and ask for money. She said that she want to buy a food. Actually, there are several people that ask for donation but they just hold a box and hope for people to donate but this woman touched any people. I shocked on that time.

From my sight, I saw her have a good physical and use a proper dress. I don't look her as a poor people. She is looks like a foreigner. I remembered the news that I read. Actually, I don't trust to person who like to begging to others people. I prefer to donate at mosque or give to person who really need it. I can accept for person who are disability if they are begging but not for person who has a good physical.

That woman failed to ad populum appeal to pity on me because I a bit careful towards beggars but she was put ad populum appeal to pity to one uncle when I saw that uncle give some donation to her.

Begging look like one of occupation in Malaysia. Malaysia can be describe as a kind. If anything happen Malaysian always give a hand but I hope there are no people that will take advantage for the kindness of Malaysian.

Nando's Ambiguous Advertisements

Hi readers!
Hopefully, all of you have a pleasant day. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep reading you all :)

______________________________________________________________________

An ambiguous sentence is when thee are two or a few ways a sentence could be understood as a claim. An ambiguous is a series of statement that is worded in such a way as to make a listener/reader lose track of "which one" you are talking about.

I have 2 examples from the advertisement made by nando's.

This photo has taken by me at Jalan Bukit Bintang which is area prostitution activities happen. At night they will see a lot of  "Ayam" hanging around here. Malay calls AYAM as prostitute however Nandos do not advertise of this dirty business, as my understanding "banyak ayam" means wanted to tell us about their a lot brunches are nearby at Sungei Wang, Pavilion KL and Berjaya Times Square. I found this ambiguous advertisement is funny :)

Another Nandos advertisement that the sentences confuses the reader because it could refer to one thing or another thing and still make sense. The word "Fuel" is referring which one? are they help us to fuel our car or feed us with chicken? Since Nandos is a restaurant, we understand that "Fuel" is the place to get full.

Better words

The Tu Quoque meaning is "being just like the person". It involves a speaker (or writer) making an argument that points out someone has the same fault he is accusing the speaker (or writer) of having.

This situation happened when I drove my car with my sisters and my nephew. My nephew about to tell us a story that happened in his school. I advise my nephew to not use "aku or engkau" when he talk to his friends but at schools, many of his friends used "aku and engkau" and he looks like influenced by that. I just to teach him how to be polite. I advised him to not follows his friend. Just be yourself and keep use "saya and awak".

Suddenly, when I talk to my sisters and use those words, he started to commented me. He said, "you use "aku" and "engkau" but why me can't say like that"?  Then i just corrected my word with use "saya and kakak" and i commented that he wrongly heard the conversation. :) Started from that, I use "saya and kakak" in-front of him. Even I know he will use those words along he grows up, I just want he knows which words are better.

My nephew Imran 5 years back and now.

A euphemism

Hi readers!
Hopefully, all of you have a pleasant day. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep reading you all :)

______________________________________________________________________

euphemism is a polite expression used in place of words or phrases that otherwise might be considered harsh or unpleasant to hear.

Some people may live in a different culture. Malays culture can be said as a polite. Malays usually will use a proper words or ways to make it nicer. Euphemisms are used regularly, in every day language for example, passed away instead of died, use the rest room instead of go to the bathroom, sleep together instead of have sex.

For me, this kind of behavior have a advantage and disadvantage. This is because, to be polite or used a proper words might be difficult to others to understand what they are going to say. Others race maybe use direct words to explain something like " he is died". Passed away makes it sound like a less horrific things. The connotation of died is almost painful, while passed away it is remorseful, but not quite so hurtful

I was talked to one of my friend and he was a chinese. He said malays usually try to care others people heart and its make malays will not say something directly. It's will make others people will think what we are gonna to say. For example if we want said someone is overweight and we said to her that you are big boned. They maybe not understand what we are going to say. It is better if we said directly to them.

For me, euphemism have an advantage and disadvantage. We have to choose a better word to speak to others people. Make sure every single things that we said will not hurt others people and it must understand by people.

My Wedding

Hi readers!
Hopefully, all of you have a pleasant day. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep reading you all :)

______________________________________________________________________

For this entry, I want to discuss about one of most significant critical thinking standards it is clarity. If we're not clarify something it will give vagueness to others people. This thing happened on my wedding ceremony.

I got married on August 2014. It was a greatest things that happened in my life. I still unbelievable that I'm married now. Alhamdulillah I'm so happy with my current life. I suddenly remember incident had happened during my ceremony. My wife is Johorean and I come from Pahang. Even both of us come from same race, but there is a bit different culture.

I really don't know what a "berinai night" and my wife not explain for that event. I thought "berinai night" is just to add some henna on my finger and it just a happen like that and I don't know that I have to bring all my family together. It shows that I'm vague about the "berinai night". This misunderstanding occur when my wife expected that my family and I know about the "berinai night" culture. I does not ask from my wife to explain further.

I thought I can go alone and let my family have a rest. My wife expected that we have a same culture and me or my family know about this. "Berinai night" normally held on night on solemnization day. I thought that on that night me and family can get a rest after long journey, but I was wrong. Suddenly my wife called me and asked either I was get ready or not. I'm shocked! Ready for what? I just can use a t-shirt right?

Me and my family a bit clumsy because we have to get ready because that event will be held around 15 minutes more. Fortunately homestay and my wife house is not too far. On that night we have a small ceremony and it accompanied with 'kompang'. Oh, I just got to know how was it is. This is my first marriage so I dont know how. Maybe for the second time it getting easy for me (Just kidding) Haha!

Family and I came late for that event, but it just happened. The sad things on that night is, we doesn't have a photographer on that night because I was sponsored by my brothers for photography and my brother for surely don't know about "berinai night" and he is not booked it. If I know what is "berinai night" this things could not happen but it's ok the important thing is "we're enjoy"!

Anecdote is a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person. For this entry, I would like to story about healthy

Do we concern about our health? How our routine meals? Do we do an exercise? Do we active? Do we have a positive lifestyle? All above is related to our healthy. Without health, there is no wealth. If we are rich but we doesn't have a health it's meaningless. My father and my mother's in law is stroke patient. My father passed away and have no spirit to live. He is easily gave up and do want to try to recover from the illness.

My mother in law love to eat. She always ate at late night, drink a coffee before she sleeps and love to try a new food This unhealthy diet causes she have a several disease like diabetic, high cholesterol, and hypertension. A person who have this three disease normally easily to attack to be stroke. It is what had happened to my mother in law.

My father is a settler. He do a plantation work and I consider his routine is good. He sweating and use his energy but he is getting old. He less effort to do the plantation work and he just hire someone else to manage his field. Causes of that, he is no longer have an active lifestyle and he suffer because of stroke.

Concern from my father and my mother in law, I promise to have a balanced lifestyle. I do exercise regularly, have a balanced diet and reduce unhealthy products. We can see how people lifestyle right now. There is a lot of fast food store, instant products and lot of innovation of products. That's why Malaysia described as "Food Paradise" by tourist. If we go somewhere, we usually will find a food that famous at that place right? For example, Nasi Kerabu is famous at Kelantan, Mee bandung famous at Muar, Johor, nasi kandar at Penang and others. Ermmm. It's so nice to hear it.

Currently, many of gym, fitness club and healthy activities implemented. It's was a positive culture in our country. I hope started from today people will concern about their healthy. Here I have a some of tips to maintain our health.

1) Do an exercise
2) Having a balanced diet
3) Do a checkup with doctor regularly to prevent any disease.
4)  You must work alternated with rest, sometimes give yourself a chance to sleep
5) Try to give up bad habits and walk more in the fresh air

Ok, that's all for this entry. That for your reading readers ^^,

Bargaining

Hi readers!
Hopefully, all of you have a pleasant day. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep reading you all J

_______________________________________________________________________

Ad populum appeal to force/fear. this fallacy is also known as "scare tactic". It uses threat or force in an attempt to accept a conclusion as correct. They are used to create anxiety, fears or sense of insecurities.

One day, I went to window shopping with my wife.  I attracted to one clothe and then I asked the sales person about the price and the sales person stated that the clothe worth RM 99”. i try to bargain the price. I asked her to give me RM 90 for that clothe. As usual, customer will try to bargain to get the lower price right?

I’m shocked when the salesperson replies using high tone. The salesperson stated that the price for that clothes already cheap, If I want a cheaper price, I can got the another clothe., but the clothe totally not suitable for me. This situation use a "scare tactic". She force me to get another clothes and expect I will agree with that. Even I really want that clothe, I will not but the clothe if I unsatisfied with the service.

The salesperson scolded me in front others customer. I feel so ashamed on that time. The salesperson disrespect her customers. She should know that customer has a purchasing power. I felt she disrespect to me when she rise her voice. Actually, on that time, my wife also attracted to another clothes at her shops, but we don't buy any clothes because of salesperson behavior.

I left that shop and go to other shop. Oh thankful, I met the exactly same clothes on the others shop. I’m asked the salesperson about the price and the price also RM99. I’m tried to bargain, but the salesperson said it was the price. She said to me nicely. Ok then I just buy that clothe with happy. I really hate for disrespectful salesperson. Salesperson should treat their customer nicely. On the others story, I went to the one of clinic at Setapak to asked about health screening but the staff look likes does not have an effort to explain to me. So, I just leave the counter without say good bye.
